Isabelle Collazo - Sifuentes

Isabelle Collazo-Sifuentes is a Chicago-area dance educator, choreographer, and performer with over 15 years of professional experience teaching and choreographing across university, public school, private studio, and community arts settings. She holds an MFA in Choreography and K–12 Dance Teaching Licensure from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
As a performer, Isabelle has appeared in works by Amanda Ramirez Dance, Laura Flores/La Mecca, and Rachel Bunting/The Humans. As a choreographer, she has created and presented original work throughout the Chicago arts community, including directing the multimedia performance ensemble The Blueprinting Project. Throughout her career, she has both performed and presented original choreographic work at venues including the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Chicago Cultural Center, Millennium Park, Hyde Park Art Center, Hubbard Street Studios, Links Hall, and as part of Chicago Dance Month.
During her tenure at Wells Community Academy High School, Isabelle established the school’s dance program and founded the Fine Arts Academy Dance Ensemble, creating performance, choreography, and leadership opportunities for student artists. While at Wells, she was recognized as a Distinguished Teacher through the Chicago Public Schools REACH Evaluation System for three consecutive years.
Isabelle later served as a Chicago Public Schools Dance Teacher Leader, supporting the district through the design and facilitation of citywide professional development for dance educators. Additionally, she served as Co-Director of the historic CPS All-City Dance Ensemble, one of the nation’s longest-running districtwide dance programs, where she helped create advanced performance and leadership opportunities for student dancers across Chicago.
Her international experience includes teaching American dance styles at a private arts school in Yangzhou, China, studying classical dance at Taipei National University of the Arts in Taiwan, and pursuing additional studies in contemporary dance and choreography in France and Germany. Drawing from experiences in education, performance, and cultural exchange, Isabelle is passionate about creating meaningful artistic experiences that cultivate creativity, discipline, community, and lifelong engagement with dance.
